NAB Amendment Bill Challenged in Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD: The recently approved by federal cabinet amendments in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) law has been challenged in Supreme Court on Saturday.

According to details, Mehmood Akhtar Rizvi has filed an application in SC Karachi registry and he has made the federal government, chairman NAB, law ministry, secretary interior and secretary defence as respondents.

In his plea, he has the stance that the amendment in NAB laws against the article 25 of the constitution as it is an attempt to protect the corruption of the ministers and high-level officials, therefore, the amended NAB bill should be termed null and void.

It is pertinent to mention that after the signature of the president Dr Arif Alvi the ordinance of the amended NAB laws has been issued.
