Islamabad (February 05, 2018): The nation is observing Kashmir solidarity day on Monday with a pledge to seek a solution to Kashmir dispute according to UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Nation-wide one minute silence was observed at 10.00 a.m. to honour Kashmiri martyrs.
In their separate messages on Kashmir Solidarity Day, President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have said that the dream of peace and prosperity in the region will remain elusive without resolving the Kashmir dispute.They called upon the international community to urge India to respect the Human Rights Charter, put an immediate end to gross human rights violations in the occupied Kashmir.
In his message, President Mamnoon Hussain said Pakistan reiterates its unwavering political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Occupied Kashmir in their struggle for self-determination right in accordance with UN resolutions.
The Prime Minister said the resolution of Kashmir dispute is essential for regional peace and development.
Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif says the Indian army had failed to suppress the freedom movement of Kashmiri people through atrocities, large scale human rights violations, genocide in Occupied Kashmir.
Addressing a Kashmir conference in Sialkot, he said now the time had come for the international community to wake up and put pressure on India to give the fundamental right of plebiscite to the oppressed Kashmiri people.Foreign Office says Pakistan stands by the Kashmiri people for the realization of their right to self determination as enshrined in the UN Security Council Resolutions.
In a tweet, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said Kashmir shall become a part of Pakistan.
In his message, Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed his gratitude to the people and government of Pakistan for their unflinching support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the right to self-determination.He said the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the Hurriyat appreciate the government of Pakistan and its leadership who has always extended all possible support to our political movement for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.
The Mirwaiz said, the people of Kashmir have been battling hardships and oppression and they are being targeted by bullets and pellets.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been placed under house arrest by puppet authorities.In Peshawar, a function in connection with Kashmir Solidarity day was held at Nishtar Hall on Monday.
Addressing the function, the speakers asked the UN to implement its resolution Kashmir and allow the Kashmiri people to decide their future by themselves.
Participants of the rally in Peshawar displayed play cards in their hands inscribed with slogans in support for just struggle of Kashmiri people for their right to self determination.
A photography exhibition in connection with Kashmir Day was also held in Peshawar.Similarly, a vehicular procession taken out from General Bus Stand Peshawar to express solidarity with Kashmiri people.
Meanwhile, a rally was also taken out in D.I.Khan and Tank to express solidarity with Kashmiri brethren.
PM Abbasi Spoke To AJK Legislative Assembly and the AJK Council
Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that Kashmiris are not alone, 20 crore Pakistanis stand by them.
Addressing the joint session of the AJK Legislative Assembly and the AJK Council in Muzaffarabad PM expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

He said Kashmir policy is in our hearts and no one can separate us from it.
The premier maintained that people of Kashmir have been deprived of freedom for seven decades, and Hurriyat leaders are being harassed continuously.
He gave a clear message to India to stop its viciousness in the occupied land and once again make it clear that Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiris on all forums.He said the entire Pakistani nation stand by the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for right to self determination.
He said Pakistan will continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people.
The Prime Minister said that the hearts of Pakistani and Kashmiri people throb together. This centuries old unbreakable relationship will remain intact forever.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Pakistan has always strived and will continue to work for peaceful resolution of the lingering dispute.The Prime Minister said despite political differences, all the political parties in Pakistan are on the same page vis-a-vis Kashmir dispute.
He said there has been no change in Pakistan’s Kashmir policy. Kashmir policy, he said, is save in our hearts and it is the same as it was seventy years ago.
The Prime Minister said that we value the sacrifices being rendered by the innocent people and the personnel of armed forces on the line of control.He said despite blatant use of oppression and use of force, Modi government has failed to suppress or dampen the spirit of freedom amongst the Kashmiri people.
He said the elected representatives of Azad Kashmir should mobilize Kashmiri diaspora abroad to highlight the dispute at world forums.
Referring to the development in Azad Kashmir, the Prime Minister said that the present government has doubled the development budget of the territory.He said China Pakistan Economic Corridor project will greatly benefit the people of Azad Kashmir and bring visible change in their lives.
The Prime Minister said the federal government will provide all the resources and assistance for the development in Azad Kashmir.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz will also addressed the public gathering in Muzaffarabad to express solidarity with Kashmiris.
Over 16,000 chairs were set up by the organisers at the University College ground Muzaffarabad. The venue ground and nearby areas have been decorated with the welcoming banners for the PML-N leaders.Millions of Pakistan across the globe mark the day to express their support to the Kashmiris in the struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination under the United Nations (UN) resolution.
It is worth mentioning here that Kashmir Day is being observe in Pakistan today to raise voice against the brutality of Indian Army, and rallies are being conducted across the country.
