NEWS DESK: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that disqualified Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s removal is no threat to democracy.
Lauding the efforts of the Sindh government, Bilawal inaugurated the NICVD in Larkana on Sunday. “I challenge the chief ministers of Punjab, Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to show us a programme like this where state-of-the-art cardiac services are provided free of cost to everyone living in the province,” he said while addressing the media. “A healthy nation is a happy nation.”
Talking about the disqualification of the PM by the Supreme Court, Bilawal stressed the need ‘to address the ailment not the symptom’. He said that the PPP wanted to introduce legislation for across the board accountability but Nawaz ‘did not share this sentiment’. “His removal poses no threat to the parliament or democracy, for which we have rendered numerous sacrifices.”
