NIC Islamabad Opens Applications for 4th Cohort of Startups


The National Incubation Center (NIC) in Islamabad, will start accepting applications for its fourth cohort from June 22nd 2018.   Startups from across the country are encouraged to apply to the largest incubation program in Pakistan.

Applications for the fourth cohort will remain open until July 15th, 2018.

This year, the National Incubation Center successfully graduated its first cohort. Start-ups under this program have raised substantial amount of funds and job opportunities in the past one and a half year.  The graduation ceremony was successfully executed by Jazz and Teamup. The two entities have been instrumental in laying the foundation for a sustainable entrepreneurial eco-system.

Teamup is an innovation hub, which works closely with government and non-government organizations to promote entrepreneurship and start-up ecosystem across Pakistan.

Privately led by industry veterans, Teamup leverages its vast industrial knowledge, expertise and relationships to help connect young entrepreneurs with professionals, investors and organizations to take ideas to market and build successful businesses.

Startups from genres including; biotech, fintech, IoT, education and agriculture are encouraged to apply for the program. The program is also targeting women and senior executives to apply for the upcoming cohort.

This twelve month program is focused on actionable training where startups are mentored by industry veterans and thought leaders from across industries. The state of the art facility fosters innovation, growth through one-to-one mentor sessions, tech talks, and allows startups to connect with some of the best industry experts. The National Incubation Program also provides startups with access to grants, VC network, digital platforms and solutions.

The program also encourages startups to participate and compete in local and international events. Some of the existing startups at the NIC made their mark and showcased their products at the 4FYN held in Barcelona every year.

The Jazz xlr8 program offers startups at the NIC with access to Jazz user base, a global network of mentors, and its digital platforms.  It has been instrumental in  promoting startups on an international platform, providing resources and expertise to help young entrepreneurs fulfill their potential.

Jazz xlr8 works in-line with Vimpelcom’s ‘Make Your Mark’ initiative, which aims to help shape the future generation through exposure and seed funds.
