PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Information Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ajmal Wazir said that the coronavirus has confirmed in more eight people on Saturday which brought the virus tally to 188 while the number of suspected patients have reached to 894 which have been admitted
to the qurantine centers in the province.
In his briefing on Saturday over the virus, Ajmal Wazir said that the package approved by the cabinet will be distributed to 1.9 million deserved poor families of the province.
He said that Rs 3000 will be distributed under the Ahsas program while Rs 2000 will be provided by the provincial government to the each family while a total of Rs 11. 4 billion will be spent on it.
The minister added that the cabinet has also approved tax exemption of Rs five billion to business community.
He also informed the cabinet has also approved Rs eight billion for health department for the purchase of medical accessories while Rs six billion has been approved for the relief department.
The coronavirus test capacity of Khyber Medical University has been extended to 500, he informed.
He further briefed that the coronavirus test facility will be provided to whole of the province adding that all the neccessary equipments are being provided to all the district hospitals of the province.
The protective measures for the protection of health workers, police and staff working on frontline have been taken, he added.
The protective precuationary measures have borne fruit so far. he said.
The minister said that people coming from abroad are being traced for the coronavirus to contain the virus on the orders of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.
