BADIN: Sixteen-year-old Hindu girl’s reportedly forced conversion and marriage in Tharparkar has caused her parents to change their location fearing they might be attacked by their daughter’s so-called husband’s family.

Ravita’s mother.

Ravita’s parents have said they moved from Wanharo village to Mithhi after they raised their voice against a man, nearly double the girl’s age, kidnapped their daughter, forcefully converted her to Islam and married her.

Although the court has summoned both the parties on June 30, the girl’s mother wanted the police to take Ravita in their protective custody until the hearing day.

However, the police said they cannot take action against the “couple”.

According to the parents, Ravita was kidnapped from their village in Nagarparkar, a few days back. They alleged the kidnapper forcefully converted and married her. However, the girl and her husband Ali Nawaz Shah, have requested the Hyderabad bench of Sindh High Court to provide them protection.
