LAHORE: A social activist went missing from his residence in Model Colony in Lahore within the Naseerabad police’s jurisdiction.

Raza Mahmood, Pakistan’s convener of Aghaz-i-Dosti, a friendship initiative between the youth of India and Pakistan, went to his residence after a meeting with friends on Saturday but was never heard of after that.

According to his friends, he held a discussion session on Saturday on the topic of extremism in context of a recent sit-in staged by religious parties and the state’s subsequent “capitulation” to it.

His mobile phone is switched off since then. Raza is also associated with Lowkey Lokai, another community initiative that brings people together for dialogues and debates on issues critical to building a peaceful society. He attended its meeting on Saturday and its details have been given on Facebook page.

Raza’s brother Hamid Nasir has submitted an application to Naseerabad police for an FIR but the case has not been registered yet.
