Lahore (April 19, 2018): The echo of alleged horse trading in recently held Senate polls has heard in Lahore High Court when a petition filed seeking null and void of Senate polls.
According to details the head of Tehreek-e-Inqlab Rana Aleemudin Ghazi filed petition in LHC seeking to annul Senate polls and naming the federal government, election commission and chairman NAB as respondents.
The counsel of the petitioner has said in his plea that worst horse trading was done in Senate polls as Imran Khan has issued show cause notice to party members assemblies for the their involvement in horse trading, therefore Senate polls were not remained transparent.
“Therefore Senate polls and its results should be declared null and void,” he requested.
PTI MPA Denies Horse Trading Allegations
The PTI MPA Fauzia Bibi, who was expelled from party after her involvement in horse trading, has denied the horse trading allegations by taken oath raising Quran in her hands during a press conference.
“I swear, did not take money from anyone during Senate polls, ” she said while raising Quran Pak in her hands before the journalists. On April 19, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan has revealed the names of lawmakers who sold votes during the Senate elections.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan announced in press conference that the party will report 20 of its members to the National Accountability Bureau for “participating in horse trading” during Senate elections.
The PTI chief said that nobody took any action on the buying and selling of votes during the Senate election. Imran claimed that between 30-40 votes were sold in the Senate elections.
Nargis Ali, Dina Naz, Fauzia Bibi, Nasreen Hayat, and Khatoon Bibi were named as the female lawmakers who had traded votes.
