Islamabad (September 29, 2017): The National Security Committee’s meeting started here at Prime Minister House, which is discussing the Afghan issues and overall regional and internal security situation.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is chairing the all important meeting which is being attended both top military and civilian leadership.
Sources said that the NSC meeting is discussing the US policy for Afghanistan and South Asia and the prevailing regional seurity situation.

The is being attended by Minister for Defence Khurram Dastagir Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal.Top leadership of the Armed Forces including Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, Air Chief Air Marshal Sohail Aman and Naval Chief Admiral Zakaullah.
The chiefs of intelligence services are also attending the meeting.Matters pertaining to the new US policy for Afghanistan and South Asia, along with peace and security situation in the region, are expected to be discussed at the meeting.Important decisions are also expected to be taken during the session.
Civil and military leadership will contemplate over ensuring national security. The PM will also take the committee into confidence over his recent visit to the US.
