Islamabad (September 29, 2017): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has convened a meeting of National Security Committee today.
The NSC will discuss the US policy for Afghanistan and South Asia and the prevailing regional situation.
The high-level meeting will be held at Prime Minister’s House which will be atteded by ministers for Defence, Finance and Foreign Affairs.
Top leadership of the Armed Forces including Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, Air Chief Air Marshal Sohail Aman and Naval Chief Admiral Zakaullah.
The chiefs of intelligence services will also attend the meeting.
Matters pertaining to the new US policy for Afghanistan and South Asia, along with peace and security situation in the region, are expected to be discussed at the meeting. Important decisions are also expected to be taken during the session.
Civil and military leadership will contemplate over ensuring national security.
The PM will also take the committee into confidence over his recent visit to the US.
