PM Directs to Set Up Task Force to Revamp Sports System


Islamabad (November 2, 2017): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has given directions for setting up of a Task Force for revamping sports system in the country. 

He gave directions to Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada who called on him in Islamabad today.

Chairman Higher Education Commission Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Secretary IPC Amjad Ali Khan and DG Sports Dr. Muhammad Akhter Nawaz Ganjera were also present during the meeting.

Matters relating to Pakistan Sports Board and Sports University came under discussion.

The Prime Minister said the task force would also look into revamping national sports federations.
The Prime Minister was informed that state-of-the-art Sports University, being established by HEC with the collaboration of Pakistan Sports Board and Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC), would be ready for inauguration by 2nd week of next month.
