ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is all set to hold a public rally in the federal capital today as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the party. Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address the rally in Parade Ground.
Earlier, the workers celebrated the occasion overnight with fireworks. Addressing them, Bilawal said the PPP will unveil its future line of action in this address to the rally.
Addressing the media yesterday, Bilawal advised former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to take a backseat and retire from active politics, as he had done enough, adding, “What else does he want after becoming Chief Minister thrice and Prime Minister thrice.”
The preparations are in final stage at the Parade Ground as at least 6000 chairs have been laid with the venue decorated party flags and banners.
DJ Butt who shot to fame from Imran Khan’s rallies will be responsible for sound system.
Separate stages have been raised for the party’s central leaders and other office-bearers. Bilawal personally inspected the arrangements of the rally late night.
At least 550 traffic police personnel and officers will be on duty to keep the traffic flow normal during the rally.
