LAHORE: Opposition Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Friday submitted a resolution in the Punjab Assembly urging the government to put names of Sharif family and former finance minister Ishaq Dar on the Exit Control List (ECL), Samaa reported.
According to our correspondent, the resolution, submitted by PPP MPA Khurram Jahangir Watto, stated that the Sharif family may leave the country due to NAB’s ongoing investigation into Panama Papers case.
To bar the Sharif family and former finance minister Ishaq Dar from leaving the country, the government should immediately put their names on the ECL, the resolution demanded.
The development came a day after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) admitted for hearing a petition seeking to put names of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his children on ECL.
The petition, filed by Abdul Wahid, will be heard on Monday (Aug 7). – Samaa
