Lahore (November 04, 2017): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has resolved to challenge the by-poll results of NA-120 in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
According to the details, PTI’s candidate in NA-120, Dr Yasmin Rashid has prepared an application, in which he pleaded that by-poll results of the constituency should be declared null and void due to electoral irregularities that took place during the electioneering and on the polling day.
Sources said that she will raise the issue of 29000 votes in her application. According to the sources, Yasmin Rashid has cited in her application that votes of overseas Pakistanis and departed souls were also casted in the by-election in the constituency NA-120. While some votes were registered more than one block code.
PTI will also plead the ECP to declared the by-poll results of NA-120 null and void as the state machinery was used to threaten their activists and to stop their mass motivation campaign in the constituency, said the sources.
Earlier, Dr Yasmin Rashid had said that her party would not accept the results of the NA-120 by-election until the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) addressed its reservations over the validity of over 29,000 votes.
It is pertinent to mention here that the election Commission of Pakistan has issued the notification of Begum Kalsoom Nawaz success in NA-120 by -poll, which was held on September 17 and Kalsoom Nawaz defeated his rival candidate Yasmeen Rashid with more than 14000 lead.
