Islamabad (July 29, 2017): Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has announced to mark Sunday as thanksgiving day with a mass public rally at Parade Ground in connection with Supreme Court’s verdicts in Panama paper case.
While addressing a press conference in Bani Gala, Imran Khan has announced to observe ‘Thanksgiving Day’ today at Parade ground Islamabad.
On Friday Imran Khan announced to mark Sunday as thanksgiving day with a mass public meeting at Parade Ground on Sunday over the SC verdict disqualifying Nawaz Sharif.
Imran Khan said, “SC verdict to disqualify Nawaz Sharif marks the start of a new era in the history of Pakistan, where justice will be held supreme.”
Imran congratulated the nation and said “Pakistan has won today.” The PTI Chief said he had no personal agenda against Nawaz Sharif and added that the former PM had done wrong to the people of this country that was why they wanted him to be held accountable.
Imran Khan invited all those who have been part of PTI’s struggle during last 21 years to join him at Parade Ground today for thanksgiving.
Hailing the Supreme Court verdict in Panama case as historic and beginning of an Islamic Welfare Pakistan, Imran Khan said that the decision will strengthen democracy in the country.
He said that Pakistan was formed for creating an Islamic welfare state and today the foundation of that was laid down. Imran said that democracy and accountability goes hand in hand and the apex court judgment would help strengthen democracy in the country.
The district administration on Saturday gave permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold public meeting titled as thanksgiving rally at capital’s Parade ground with certain conditions.
