Islamabad: The Meteorological department has predicted more rain across the country till Thursday.

Heavy rains along with thunderstorms expected in most cities of the country today. The rain lashed in various areas of capital Islamabad last night and the torrential rains are likely in the next 24 hours as well.

Urban flooding, flooding in ponds and nullahs and land sliding in mountain areas are likely in the wake of the heavy rains.

The met department has warned all the respective institutions specially reservoir operators and waters managers to be alerted in the wake of the rains.

Rains battered in the most parts of the country in the last 24 hours which included Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, East Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan.

The higest rains recorded in Chor area of Sindh of 149 mm while Mithi 73 mm, Thatha 38 mm, Mohen Jo Daro 34 mm, Hyderabad 19 mm, Mir Purkhas 16 mm, Shaheed Benazirabad and Jacobabad nine mm.
