Islamabad: Accountability Court of Islamabad has acquitted ex-premier Raja Pervez Ashraf in the rental power reference while the NAB has announced to challenge the decision.

The AC judge Muhammad Bashir announced a reserved judgment in the acquittal plea of Perean Ghayib rental power reference against Raja Pervez Ashraf and others.

The AC Judge Muhammad Bashir acquitted PPP leader and the former premier Raja Pervez Ashraf and eight others accused in the case which included Ismail Qurashi, Shahid Rafi, Shaukat Tareen, Tahir Basharat Cheema, Muhammad Saleem Arif, Chaudhry Abdul Qadeer, and Iqbal Ali Shah.

Raja Pervez Ashraf has also been acquitted in the Sahiwal reference in the last week.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Peran Ghayib reference has been filed by the NAB in 2014 while the 192 MW project had been installed in Peran Ghayib.
