Altaf Hussain is no different than Kulbhushan Jadhav and Sindh government is ready to hang him if permitted by the federal government, provincial home minister Sohail Anwar Sial has said.
“MQM’s founder is a traitor and the punishment for a traitor is nothing else but death,” Sial said while addressing a ceremony in Karachi on Tuesday afternoon.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership has honoured its promise as peace has returned to Karachi, Sial said, adding: “The role of the armed forces and paramilitary Rangers is commendable in this regard.”
On August 22, 2016, the MQM founder made incendiary speech against the state institutions, leading to attacks by party workers on the offices of different television channels. The speech had also led to a division in the party, followed by formation of MQM-Pakistan, which is led by Farooq Sattar and MQM-London.
On Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s accusation that Asif Ali Zardari had plotted the assassination of former premier Benazir and his brother Murtaza Bhutto, Sial asked as to why Musharraf did not produce evidence against the PPP co-chairman when he was in prison.
Regarding the suspension of mobile network services during Muharram 9 and 10, Sial said that a request in this regard has been submitted to the the Centre, adding that services will remain suspended in the districts making the request.
