The out-of-form leg-spinner, Yasir Shah, is set to return to Pakistan team with a bang after being left out of the first Test against Sri Lanka.
The 33-year-old will be joining the team after a few useful sessions with Mushtaq Ahmed at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). The former leg-spinner is currently working with PCB as a consultant. Shah was released from the squad after the start of the first match to rejuvenate his bowling action and gain confidence.
After the completion of the drills at the academy, the leg-spinner is confident of a strong comeback and believes that he is ready for the Karachi Test.
Having bowled 25-30 overs daily and worked on his googly and action, Shah said that “I feel better now and this break has helped me regain confidence”.
Talking about his exclusion from the first match, he said that he didn’t play due to wet conditions at Rawalpindi.
Earlier, Mushtaq Ahmed had vowed to revive Yasir Shah’s form, saying that “it is unfair that people suddenly started to doubt him, and he isn’t getting a lot of support either”.
I know three days aren’t enough as far as coaching is concerned, but all I have to do is fine-tune him, and take the negative thoughts out of his mind. He probably started doubting himself, and his mindset dragged a bit.
Pakistan played four pacers in the playing XI, however, one of the bowlers is likely to make way for either Yasir Shah or Kashif Bhatti at the National Stadium Karachi. The match is scheduled to start on 19th December.
