‘Rok sakte ho to rok lo’: Maryam says PM’s disqualification will pave way for victory in 2018 polls

Despite Friday’s damning Supreme Court verdict against the now ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, the former first daughter Maryam Nawaz has expressed full confidence in her father and his Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s political future.

Maryam took to Twitter hours after the Supreme Court of Pakistan disqualified Nawaz from the premiership for not declaring income he earned as an executive at Dubai-based Capital FZE on a monthly salary of AED 10,000 while he served as the prime minister of Pakistan. The apex court also ordered the National Accountability Bureau to file references against the Sharif family.

However, a seemingly unfazed Maryam claimed on Twitter that Nawaz, now ousted as PM for the third time, would make a comeback from this decision.

In a string of tweets, Maryam said that her father would emerge stronger from this during the next elections.

While consoling dejected PML-N supporters on the micro-blogging site, Maryam also said that the party was more united than ever.
