Bollywood superstar Saif Ali Khan said on Friday that he was concerned about the type of relationships his daughter Sara was going to have in the Indian film industry and how she would deal with failure.
In an interview to an Indian website, the Rangoon actor said that his daughter with former wife Amrita Singh, Sara Ali Khan, was independent in the decisions that she took.
As per Saif, Sara’s decision to star alongside Sushant Singh Rajput in director Abhishek Kapoor’s film was also her own.
“She simply came to me and told me that she is doing Kedarnath. We never discussed the script in detail, as I don’t think my opinion matters. Since it is her independent decision, she is happy to either fly with it or go down with it,” he said.
However, he did talk about the fears that he harboured regarding his daughter’s entry into the Indian film industry and the downsides that came it with.
“What worries me is the kind of relationships she is going to have. Or for that matter, how she will deal with failure — will she get upset and cry about them? These are things that niggle at me,” he said.
Saif will be next seen in two upcoming movies–Chef and Kaalakaandi. The latter is a dark comedy film directed by Akshat Verma while the former is a Hollywood remake of the same name.
Saif Ali Khan is a concerned father who certainly cares for his daughter. However, a little faith in how Sara handles herself will go a long way in creating the perception that he backs her decisions 100%.
