Karachi (July 19, 2017): Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has imposed ban on the construction of three-storey or more in Karachi on the complains of multiplying illegal building constructions in port city.
According to the SBCA notification the construction of multi storey buildings, more than ground-plus two has already been banned. The construction of second floor on a residential building will only be allowed after the completion of first floor.
It is also said that Supreme Court has already ordered against the high rise buildings in the metropolitan, therefore SBCA is taking step to stop illegal constructions in the city.
“Hundreds of requests are in pending to transfer of residential plots into commercial plots,” SBCA said adding that ground plus two construction will be allowed for the residential plots minimum size of 399 square feet.
On May 25, Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) had already issued a notification and imposed a ban with immediate effect on the construction of multi-storied and high-rise buildings beyond ground plus two in the metropolis.
According to the Notification, all constructions beyond ground plus two in Karachi will be considered illegal by the concerned authorities.
