Islamabad (December 07, 2017): The Supreme Court of Pakistan will announce its decision in case of Orange Line Train project of Lahore tomorrow, Friday, the decision was reserved on April 17.
The Supreme Court had reserved its ruling in the Orange Line Metro Train project case on April 17, but asked the Punjab government to submit a comprehensive report after seeking expert opinion to allay the fears of its opponents.
The case heard by three-member SC larger bench headed by justice Aijaz Afzal.
The Punjab government has filed five various appeals against the case as the Lahore High Court had already directed the Punjab government to protect the historical buildings and mosques constructed on the suggested route of the orange line train projects.
Cost of Orange Metro Train in Lahore has exceeded 250 billion rupees, while metro train cost was estimated at 164 billion rupees.
Orange Line project has started to set huge affect on Punjab’s economy and the whole province’s budget was put on a single project. AbbTakk News has dug out startling statistics of the project.
According to sources, 27 kilometers of new roads have been destroyed and their reconstruction cost will be 600 million rupees. Multan Road was constructed with a cost of six billion rupees, which will now be reconstructed, while the affected government buildings payment statistics are not added in the expenses yet.
