KARACHI: Former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbassi has approached Sindh High Court (SHC) to get interim bail in the NAB reference of illegal recruitments in Pakistan State Oil (PSO).
In his petition to SHC, the ex-premier contended that allegations on him for the hiring two officers including MD PSO is baseless adding that the establishment division had approved the recruitment of two officers of PSO including MD.
He requested the SHC to stop the National Accountability Bureau arresting him as he is ready to face the trial.
A two-member bench of SHC in a chair of Chief Justice will hear his petition.
Earlier, Shahid Khaqan had gotten protective bail from the Islamabad High Court (IHC)
It is pertinent to mention here that the NAB has filed a reference against the stalwart of Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz that he recruited MD PSO Imran Ul Haq illegally as minister for Petroleum in the PML-N government.
The Accountability Court had issued a non-bailable warrant for his arrest.
