Karachi (April 09, 2018): The defence lawyers subjected a prosecution witness have completed cross-examination to 22 witness in the Shahzeb murder case on Monday.
Two-member bench of Sindh High Court has resumed hearing of pleas against the sentence of criminal in Shahzeb murder case, they include Shahrukh Jatoi, Nawaz Sirja Talpur, Sajjad Talpur and Ghulam Murtza Lashari.
The sentenced criminal Shahrukh Jatoi lawyer Mehmood A Qureshi has cross examined the more witnesses in the case.The prosecution has so far examined 22 witnesses and abandoned 28 out of 53 witnesses. The court has adjourned hearing for April 16 directing arguments of investigative officer in the next hearing.
An Anti-terrorism Court has announced death sentence to Shahrukh Jatoi and Siraj Talpur, life imprisonment to Sajjad Talpur and Murtaza Lashari.
Shahzeb Murder Case:
Shahrukh Jatoi, Nawab Siraj Ali Talpur, his younger brother Nawab Sajjad Ali Talpur and their house servant Ghulam Murtaza Lashari have been charged with killing 20-year-old Shahzeb in Defence Housing Authority on the night of Dec 24, 2012 after heated arguments.
The accused were booked in a case under Sections 302 (premeditated murder), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 216 (harbouring offender who has escaped from custody whose apprehension has been ordered), 109 (abetment) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act on a complaint of the deceased’s father Aurangzeb, a deputy superintendent of police, at the Darakhshan police station.
