Shawwal Moon Not Sighted, Eid ul Fitr on Saturday

Karachi (June 14, 2018): The Shawwal moon has not been sighted in the country and hence the Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, June 16.  

The formal announcement was made by Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman in a press conference at Met Complex Karachi after convening the meeting of the body for sighting the moon and gathering pieces of evidence.

Mufti announced, there is no evidence of moon from any parts of the countries so Friday, June 15, will be 30th Ramadan and the first Shawal will be on Saturday, June 16.

The body gathered evidence about moon sighting from all the four provinces of the country and meeting of Zonal moon-sighting committees were held simultaneously in their respective headquarters. The met office also said that no moon was sighted anywhere in the country.
