KARACHI: A police official gunned down a 12-year-old boy Rehan in Karachi on Monday, claiming that he was passing through the area when a gun battle ensued between drug traffickers that ultimately caused the casualty.
The police official stated that he was passing through the area, Mominabad, when he witnessed a gun battle start between a group of drug traffickers.
“The firing between the suspects claimed the life of the young boy,” he said.
However, relatives of the boy denied the allegations claiming that the police official was behind the murder of the 12-year-old.
“Police official Majid came into the area for a girl and a fighting broke out between her kin and him,” said a relative of the boy. “He called for additional police officers who opened fire, resulting in the death of the boy.”
Relatives of the deceased Rehan also alleged that the police officials who opened fire at the behest of Majid were drunk.
