Sindh’s provincial cabinet has decided to bring back sales tax on cellular services in its recent meeting on Thursday. What it means is that you will have to pay sales tax on easy load and scratch cards.

Government officials, special assistants, advisors, and provincial ministers and the Chief Minister, Murad Ali Shah were also in attendance during the meeting.


Sindh Imposes 19.5% Sales Tax on Internet for Everyone!

According to the Supreme Court’s ruling, the government was restricted from collecting sales tax on cellular services from June 13, 2018, to April 24, 2019. Now that the verdict no longer restricts the authorities, the government has decided to bring it back to increase its revenues. The government had already resumed sales tax collection on internet services and now it’s ready to implement it across all cellular services.

According to the reports, the provincial government suffered a loss of Rs 10 billion due to the suspension of sales tax on cellular services.

The date of implementation hasn’t been specified yet, however, the Sindh government is likely to notify about the change in the near future.
