Spot Fixing: 5-Year Ban Slapped on Sharjeel Khan


Lahore (August 30, 2017): The three-member Tribunal of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) slapped a five-year ban on cricketer Sharjeel Khan after finding him guilty of spot fixing in Pakistan Super League (PSL). The ban bars Sharjeel to be involved in any cricket related activity for five years.

The spot fixing scandal had come to light at the beginning the PSL and many players were found involved in it.

Sharjeel was accused of accepting offer from a bookie to deliver dot balls (balls that give no runs out) which he did.

Twenty-eight-year-old Sharjeel Khan has represented Pakistan in one test match, 25 ODIs, and 15 T-20 International matches.
