MANCHESTER: England seam bowler Stuart Broad made history when he dismissed Kraigg Brathwaite on day five of the third Test against West Indies at Old Trafford.
Broad, who made his Test debut in 2007, now has 500 Test wickets. He achieved the milestone amid an outstanding performance in his 140th Test match. He is the second England bowler to reach the mark, after his long-time team-mate James Anderson.
The only other fast bowlers to have achieved the feat are West Indies’ Courtney Walsh and Australia’s Glenn McGrath. The all-time list is headed by spinners with Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne and Anil Kumble at the top of the charts.
