QUETTA: At least two men were killed and as many injured on Tuesday after a remote-controlled bomb set off in Awaran Town of Awaran district in Balochistan.
Security officials said unidentified assailants planted an improvised explosive device (IED) near a shop in Awaran bazaar, which resulted in the deaths on the spot.
Shops and buildings were affected by the magnitude of the blast, which caused a state of panic.
The victims were identified as Inayat Ullah and Balaach, residents of the district.
Security officials shifted the injured to the district hospital, while the bodies were sent to their loved ones.
Meanwhile, police registered a case against the unidentified perpetrators and an investigation into the case is underway.
While no group has come forward to claim responsibility of the attack, a search operation is underway to arrest the culprits.
