ISLAMABAD: Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan had several years ago stated that it was ‘ridiculous to invoke Articles 62 and 63 of the constitution’.
In an interview to an Indian journalist, Khan stated that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will discredit itself by invoking the articles.
He said that all top politicians in Pakistan file references on Article 62 and 63 which have much more solid proofs.
‘In my view, I can bend the entire assembly on 62 and 63 because you have to be an angel to pass that 62 and 63,’ the Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman said.
A person cannot be qualified as member of the national or provincial legislatures, if he is not ‘Sadiq and Ameen’ under Article 62 of the constitution.
