Lahore (December 1, 2017): The World Bank has approved 130 million dollars loan to improve the irrigation system of Punjab on Friday.
According to details the loans will be used for the construction of ponds, water filtration plants and drip irrigation system in the province. Under the project one hundred and 20 thousand acre of land located in salinity areas will be irrigated by construction of ponds accumulating the rain water.
The water filtration plants will also be installed across the province so that people could be provided clean drinking water.
Work Bank had already been lent debts of Rs 250 million to Punjab government to irrigate the 26000 acre of land and installation of drip irrigation system along with the provision of 5000 laser leveling units to farmers.
