Lahore (August 30, 2017): Head Coach of national cricket team Mickey Arthur has said that World XI’s tour will showcase Pakistan as a safe country.
World Eleven’s visit of Pakistan will not only Pakistani cricket lovers a chance to watch their cricket heroes in action with their families and friends but it will also give the Pakistani players to display their talents before their families and friends which they have been deprived for many years, he added in an interview.
Saying that he himself is enthusiastic and charged to coach Pakistani cricket squad Mickey said that by visit of Sri Lankan and West Indies teams after the World XI’s tour will pave way for the tour of Pakistan by more teams.
We expect a large number of spectators will show up at the stadium to encourage their cricket heroes. Though many of the players who helped the national team win the Champions Trophy will be a part of World Cup squad it would be tough competition, he said adding that there are many high talented cricketers who need international exposure.
Calling Sarfraz Ahmad an aggressive captain Mickey said that making plans and setting strategies would be easy for him because there is a single captain for all the three formats of the game.
After the retirement of Misbahul Haq and Yunus Khan the responsibility has been shifted on the shoulders of Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq who besides delivering personal performance would also have to polish and hone young talents into seasoned ones, he added.
