Yasir Shah became the quickest spinner in Test cricket’s history, in terms of number of matches played, to have grabbed 150 wickets.
He overtook Clarrie Grimmett of Australia to achieve. Hugh Tayfield of South Africa is at third No.3 in the table followed by Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal and India’s Ravi Ashwin.
He is also the joint-second fastest bowler ever to take 150 wickets alongwith his compatriot Waqar Younis with 27 matches to their name.
England’s Sydney Barnes holds the record for the quickest bowler to grab 150 wickets in Test crickets as he reached the milestone in 24 matches.
Yasir is ranked third among spinners who are the fastest in terms of the number of balls to grab 150 wicket. He has taken just 15 deliveries more than the India’s Ashwin took to reach the landmark.
Stuart MacGill of Australia was the the quickest spinner to have taken 150 wickets which he did in 8312 deliveries.
Yasir took 150 Test wickets since he made his debut in the longer format of the game. Only Graeme Swann and Mitchell Johnson of Australia are quicker than Yasir in terms of time taken from debut to reach this landmark.
