Peshawar (August 28, 2017): The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) strongly reacted over the joining of its dissident party leader and former minister Ziaullah Afridi and said that corruption charges being probed against him and his decision to join PPP reflection of its personality.
In a statement Provincial Information Minister Shah Ferman, issued by PTI media cell said that Ziaullah Afridi was ousted from cabinet for his involvement in corruption.
“The corruption charges against him being probed since 2015,” he said that he was expert in corruption and its choice of joining PPP is appropriate for him.Earlier, Former Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) minister and MPA Ziaullah Afridi on Monday confirmed that he was joining the PPP.
Afridi announced the move following a meeting with PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari at Zardari House in Islamabad.PPP leader Faisal Karim Kundi and PPP provincial president Humayun Khan were present also present at the meeting.

Afridi developed rift with PTI after he was arrested by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission while holding the office in Ministry of Mineral Development.He was accused of misuse of authority and corruption. Afterward, he accused KP CM Pervez Khattak of involvement in Bank of Khyber corruption scandal. “KP CM Pervez Khattak is involved in corrupt practices in various departments … Siraj-ul-Haq and Imran Khan remained silent on illegal appointment of BOK MD despite huge claims of accountability,” he said on August 15, 2017.
